Scope of Works:

Checkmate were originally asked to complete a passive fire protection survey of the Fire Doors and Compartmentation at the John Vane Building. Upon completion of this we were asked to upgrade the compartments and Fire Doors.

We have subsequently completed surveys of all QMUL buildings and the upgrade works at 30 buildings both residential and non-residential. Through regular communication with both the client and the estates managers, we were able to programme the works in the least disruptive manner. Often working in restricted access areas or buildings in 24-hour, avoiding exam times to minimise disruption.

Results:

By working in this bespoke, consultative and agreed phased manner we were able to achieve Fire Compartmentation and certification in all of the buildings completed to date.
