acoustic seal

We use acoustic seal for sealing doors and window frames so that nothing can enter or escape though the gaps. Many of the acoustic seals are available in kits and they come with two vertical sides and the smaller horizontal strips.

We can fit acoustic seals for you if you require one. Many of the companies that produce electrical goods have acoustic seals fitted as it’s a very cheap way to help prevent a fire and its smoke spreading from room to room. When an acoustic seal has been fitted we advise that you to place steel strips onto the door as they are not included in the packs. When the acoustic seals have been fitted we then need to think about the gap at the bottom of the door as this will need to be sealed.

Some doors and windows may have already been fitted with acoustic seals and this is then easier for us when we come to refit them as the seals on the doors or windows are already there.Acoustic seals are used in many properties in the UK. They are a good investment especially if you have electrical goods in the property.

Well maintained fire compartments are a key element in the fire safety of buildings. But they are often breached by the introduction of mechanical, electrical, and I.T. services. Defects can stay hidden away, typically in ceiling voids and riser cupboards, until a fire occurs when the problem becomes all too apparent. In a fire situation the smallest defect can become a route for the spread of smoke and flame, not only endangering lives but also the property and lifeblood of an organisation. It is a chilling fact that statistically if you have a fire you are likely to be bankrupt within three years due to the disruption and mayhem that follows. Under new legislation, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, the onus is now on Premises Managers to arrange for competent persons to undertake fire safety assessments of their buildings.
